About Us
Diane grew up in North Wales on an agricultural farm with her family and knew from an early age that she wanted to dedicate her future to helping animals. She was a member of the Pony Club from the age of seven and spent most weekends during her school years competing in Dressage, Horse Trials or Tetrathlon competitions. To further her knowledge and skills in Equine care and management during this time she also advanced through the Pony Club Tests.
After her ‘A’ levels, Diane went on to study a BSc (Hons) at the University of Birmingham where she was also a member of the University Equestrian Team. She competed at National level for the University of Birmingham and International level for the British University Student Riding Team.
Diane qualified from Birmingham University in 2002 and went on to work in her first postgraduate job at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London for two years where she gained invaluable human experience from a well established teaching hospital. Other postgraduate jobs were at Glan Clwyd NHS Hospital, North Wales and Wrexham Physiotherapy and Sport Injury Clinic. Now specialising in outpatient physiotherapy and sports injuries, Diane has worked part time at the BMI Chiltern Hospital, Great Missenden since 2005.
Diane completed her Master Degree in Veterinary Physiotherapy in 2007, awarded by the Royal Veterinary College, London, and started her veterinary physiotherapy practice in January 2007. She works closely with a number of Equine and Small Animal Veterinary Clinics and believes that a multi-disciplinary team approach to the rehabilitation management and injury prevention of small and large animals is important for optimising the outcome. Diane regularly attends post-graduate courses and teaching sessions to continue developing her knowledge and skills, based on the latest research, in the fields of human and animal physiotherapy.
Diane has competed in British Eventing to Pre-Novice, BSJA to Newcomers level and British Dressage to Elementary. Diane bred from her Pony Club competition horse in 2000 and now competes her home bred gelding ’Louis‘ at Riding Club Horse Trials, Dressage and Show Jumping.
Jack and Tillie, two mischievous young terriers, are a recent addition to Diane's team.
